Over the past year i’ve set-up alot of iPhones for work and family. From my experience I been able come up with little tricks to help the set-up a little more smooth. While iPhone set-up is not a perfect science especially business accounts and thats another long story. The one trick that you may want to use is to bypass the Account info or Apple ID section. This is only useful if your setting up iPhones that are not yours. When you bypass the account info, you can completely activate and even sync the iPhone to a computer. The owner of the iPhone just needs to enter their Apple ID on their iTunes account once they receive the iPhone.

Reasons to bypass Account info:

• Setting up an iPhone thats not yours and the owner doesn’t have an Apple account yet.

• Setting up an iPhone thats not yours and the owner did not give you their Apple account info.

How to:

When you get to the Apple ID user name and password section, just hit continue

Next screen should be the customer info section. This is where you think you have to either start an account or have an exiting one. But if you look closely at the line, at the end is the bold hard to see “click here” link. This link will let you bypass without having an account.

Thats it. It seems very simple, but it took me many set-ups to find this out. Hopefully this will save people some time.
